Using my UK company in Ireland
If you’re reading this and you’re a UK Contractor with a UK Limited Company and you’re taking a contract role in Ireland then you probably want to know whether you can use your UK Company here and run all your income through it.
The short answer is yes!
There are lots of timelines that are relevant; 30 days, 60 days, 183 days. The biggest mistake UK contractors have made in the past is assuming that if a contract is for 183 days (6 months) or less, that there’s no need to do anything. This is wrong.
If you’re going to be living in Ireland during the course of your contract and you’re going to be in the country for more than 60 days then you will be liable to Irish payroll taxes so you need to talk to us about planning carefully to maximise your retention. However, in certain circumstances there are exemptions which can be applied for which means you don’t need to pay Irish income taxes. We get a full understanding of your situation and give you the advice most suited to your particular circumstances.
